Dear Friends,

As we anticipate Shabbat HaGadol and the arrival of Passover, we are deeply moved by the enduring themes of liberation and renewal that define this season. This is a time for us to celebrate the remarkable unity and resilience of our community. Despite facing significant challenges, such as the ongoing plight of hostages in Gaza and a distressing rise in antisemitism, may we find renewed vigor in the retelling of our journey of Exodus from bondage to freedom. This narrative reminds us of our past trials and reinvigorates our commitment to peace and security.

Thanks to your steadfast support, the Jewish Federations have raised $763 million, assisting over 472 organizations and providing vital services to more than 1.7 million individuals.

Our local efforts in Orange County have contributed significantly to this achievement, with over $530,000 directed to the national campaign. This has enabled us to support displaced Israelis, providing them with shelter, supplies, and access to trauma therapy from professionals like Yael Yoshei.

Here at home, the Federation’s Rose Project continues to fortify our community, offering essential programs and resources designed to navigate these challenging times. As we gather to observe Passover, the act of coming together itself is a source of inspiration, reminding us of the power of communal solidarity. This year, let us ignite hope by embracing our shared stories and utilizing The Power of One toolkit, designed to foster meaningful dialogue and grassroots action against antisemitism.

The Haggadah teaches us that "in every generation, they stand against us to destroy us," yet it also assures us of our perpetual resilience and unity. As we read these words at our Passover tables, we find a wellspring of hope, even in the darkest of times. Our values and traditions bind us together and strengthen us to meet every challenge.

Our Annual Campaign is the source from which we carry out the critically important work to amplify Jewish life in our community, to combat antisemitism, and to bolster our global Jewish community, especially in times of crisis. Please consider a gift today to the 2024 Annual Campaign. Your support of our Annual Campaign will ensure Federation’s impact day in and day out, all year long, at home and around the world. By strengthening our work today, you ensure we are ready to respond to crisis tomorrow.

Am Yisrael Chai.

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach,

Erik Ludwig
