2018 Mensch of the Year
Peter Macdonald is one of the founding members of Solomon Society and has created some significant programs for Solomon Society. He was the innovator and creator of the Supper Clubs (dinners for a small group of men to foster friendships and camaraderie), coordinator of Solomon Society programs with Second Harvest Foodbank, Chair of Late Night in 2016 and 2017, and is a Member of Solomon Society Executive Board and Leadership Council.
In his business life, Peter serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel for loanDepot. In this role, Macdonald oversees all legal, regulatory, licensing, compliance and litigation matters for the Company, ensuring that loanDepot develops and maintains the necessary oversight and protection to provide exceptional service to its customers, employees and investors. Peter is considered an industry leader in the areas of litigation, CFPB readiness, and borrower, investor, and strategic communication with federal and state agencies.
Peter is a native of Canada who now resides in Irvine, California, with his wife Stephanie. Peter and Stephanie have 3 sons: Nash (18), who just graduated from TVT and is attending Chapman in the fall, Ian (15), and Henry (14), who are both at TVT. Peter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa and a Juris Doctorate from Western State University. Peter is a huge hockey fan and is on the board of the Irvine Ice Foundation. Additional hobbies include fishing and trips with his family.
