Federation Volunteers Bring Holiday Joy to Refugees in Poland

Russian speakers from the U.S. and Canada are leading High Holiday activities for hundreds of Ukrainian refugees in Poland, bringing messages of unity and hope at the start of the Jewish new year. The volunteers, all former refugees from the Soviet Union, work as educators and clergy in their local communities. Activities taking place in Warsaw, Krakow and Lodz include holiday meals, concerts, prayer services and educational programs. The initiative is coordinated by Jewish Federations of North America's Global Volunteer Hub in collaboration with our overseas partners, JDC (the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) and The Jewish Agency for Israel.
