Stephen Sondheim - The Master of the Musical

Stephen Sondheim is an American composer and lyricist known for more than a half-century of contributions to musical theatre. Sondheim received an Academy Award, eight Tony Awards, eight Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, a Laurence Olivier Award, and a 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom. Be entertained with his story and music from his best-known works as composer and lyricist… A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Pacific Overtures, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods and Assassins. He also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story and Gypsy.
Presenter: Written and narrated by Bree Burgess Rosen and accompanied by pianist and vocalist. Bree has more than four decades of experience in the performing arts as a professional performer, writer, producer, director, and educator. She is a member of the Actors’ Equity Association, the Screen Actors Guild and more. She is the creator and writer of Lagunatics, and serves as the Founding Artistic Director of No Square Theatre. Bree has also worked as writer/director, and a performer with the Pacific Symphony’s concert series.
