Do you know how influential the Jews were in the development of California? This is the story of Jewish Pioneers who impacted California told by California Jewish Historian, Author and Radio Personality and one of their descendants, John Rothmann.

John Rothmann is a Merage JCC favorite. He is a political commentator, radio personality, author, and foreign policy consultant. He is a professor at the University of San Francisco. The program he's presenting integrates history, Jewish identity, and the story of pioneering California Jews and more.

Learn about Levi Strauss, Edward Bransten, William Haas, I.W. Hellman, Walter Haas, Daniel Koshland and James Gerstley. The businesses they built are Levi Strauss, MJB Coffee, Wells Fargo, Haas Brothers, the Alaska Commercial Company and The Borax Company. John Rothmann will also be presenting the story of the Haas sisters home in San Francisco, The Haas Lilienthal House, a National Treasure restored to highlight the Jewish History of California.

Patron's reception begins at 3:15 pm.
