Our pioneering past began with the arrival of 8 young men and their families
in the 1880s. As the community grew, so did the need for Jewish Federation,
which was established in 1965.
Today, as one of the fastest-growing, most vibrant, progressive Jewish
communities in the United States, we enjoy a vast mosaic of Jewish day schools,
congregations, and nonprofit organizations.
Jewish Orange County is distinguished by its diversity. In this landscape,
Jewish Federation has committed itself to a new model of outreach and
philanthropy. Guided by Jewish spiritual and ethical values, Federation's
investor partners are helping to create a community that is highly visible,
readily accessible, warm and welcoming, sharply focused on quality, and
adequately funded.
